Anal Bombshell (Anal Adventures of Josh Evans #6) by Aaron Grimes 3/5 stars - Serious grammar issues and wording kinks right from the very beginning. A slutty man with a very HUGE ego. That needs to be stroked.
A Love Secretly by John Rudram 3/5 stars - No real big inspirations but it has some heart. This story could have made a larger impact if more was put into it. If only more was put forth. Creativity is there.
Homecoming (Cloaked Devices #0.5) by Cecilia Robert 3/5 stars - I must say for there to be multiple editors listed on this someone dropped the ball. There are many spots were words are missing or there are just too many of them or even in the wrong order. Aside from those issues I found the story engaging. I drew you in without completely putting out he fire that begins to spark. Another installment with more attention to editing will be much appreciated. I would love to see where things go from this point.
I found Sera to be strong and accomplished. She held a strength that running away brought out in her. Levian is single-minded and determined to find his mate. Mine. Tegue seems to be more single-mined and focused on himself and all he can get. But in the final few chapters he display another side of himself that was not yet expect of him.
Roberts have a future with this writing thing. Just work more on the editing front so the story can flow more smoothly.
Weekend Warriors (Sisterhood, #1) by Fern Michaels 4/5 stars - I have so found myself a new series to follow. There was no sex, no real romance, but there was something that got me. It was funny and very entertain. I even found some empowerment within. Myra & Charles are a serious piece of work. They are both full of experience and a few secrets. They are a great older couple on a mission to avenge life's wrongs.
Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou 4/5 stars - Ms. Angelou has a personality that was formed by her relationship with her mother. One can see the up and down, ins and outs of her relation with her mother. There is a strong bond that is cultivated with the life that she lived. Angelou has a beautiful life that encompassed a rape victim, a single teen mom, an abuse victim, neglected wife, a dancer, a singer, a writer, and a teacher that learned. She is a teacher that can write.
Dear John by Nicholas Sparks 4/5 stars - John searches his life and gives a view of what and how he recalls life to have been. The love of his life sends him a Dear John letter and feels the need to do something. He reviews how he met, lost, and long for the love of his life and in the end let's her go. Being in love does not always promise a happy ending. Just a better one.
It's great seeing things from a man's point of view.
Santa's Wayward Elf by Paige Tyler 5/5 stars - If you want a short, funny, romance with some adventure/action, then this is your read for an hour or so out of the day. Sosie is out innocent, wide-eyed elf on a mission to reach the South Pole. Derek is out handsome detective for the NYPD. This is my first Elf romance involving Santa and the North Pole. The sexy elf and her sex toy division has made things very pleasant for many at Christmas time. With all of this going on she gets lost in NY City and then stumbles in to Derek's world. This is an adventures ride for her. She learns new things. I found it very well worth my time.
Beautiful Wreck by Larissa Brown 5/5 stars - If you love time travel and romance combos I would venture to say that you will love this one. I had a real slow beginning. It took a few days to get in the swing of things. Ginn (future) and Heirik (past) are two that would not have looked for the other on purpose. Though by chance and life they meet each other. Their love grows with time. Ginn is the one that has to make the ultimate decision to go or stay.
Cinderella Ate My Daughter: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the New Girlie-Girl Culture by Peggy Orenstein 4/5 stars - Ms. Orestein made a big mistake when she decided to bash my favorite Disney Princess (Ariel) within the first few pages of CH1. Hell she takes a serious bash to Cinderella, Jasmin, even Bella from the Twilight Saga. She even puts the smack down and smack up on dolls (American Girl, Barbie, Bratz, Moxie Dora). None seemed to escape the hit list. She make an analysis of Miley, Brittney, and briefly Lindsey and Selena. In the end there is some very informative information that one must sort through for themselves to evaluate and make a decisive decision.
Ana, Do You Hear Me? by Raven McAllan 5/5 stars - Quickie read - 1st read by McAllan. Opening statement Ana, do you hear me? . . . a woman on the brink of losing her mind has one more sensual imagination of her lover and the love of her life. Sweet. Sensual. Breathtaking.
At Long Last by Elene Sallinger 5/5 stars - Quickie read- 1st read by Sallinger. She makes second chance at love occur naturally and over similar tragedies in life. A second chance of this nature take time to achieve, but the wait is its own reward. Marianne and Carl had a connection from the very beginning. It went beyond the book club or the illness commonality.
Boogie Wugie by Vanessa Finaughty 4/5 stars - Quickie read- 1st read by Finaughty. Child's play at an game old as time. The boogieman is embedded in all out psyche at some point or another.
A Birthday Wish by Doris O'Connor 4/5 stars - Quickie read - 1st read by O'Connor. sometimes dreams do come true with some variations to the details. Forgiveness is all in the details.
A Day at the Office or The Bastard by Jane Oldaker 4/5 stars - Quickie read - 1st read by Oldaker. No great stretch of the imagination, if you put your mind to thinking. If you take the time to consider the suspense is all in your head.
I am not a professional reviewer. These are just my personal opinions.
